State Council's Party group vows to press ahead with anti-graft work

The leading Party Members' Group of the State Council met on Jan 14 to implement a strict anti-corruption and austerity campaign, which was proposed by President Xi Jinping at the fifth plenary of the 18th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection held the day before.

Anti-corruption and austerity measures were given great prominence last year; and positive results were seen.

The government will continue the campaign to create a clean economic and social environment for development, the meeting, presided over by Premier Li Keqiang, decided. The meeting stressed that the government will continue to have “zero tolerance” toward corrupt members.

The meeting decided to make urgent preparations for the third anti-corruption and austerity work conference of the State Council.

Other members who attended the meeting included Vice-Premiers Zhang Gaoli, Liu Yandong, Wang Yang and Ma Kai; and State Councilors Yang Jing, Chang Wanquan, Yang Jiechi, Guo Shengkun and Wang Yong.
