Seven pedestrians were killed and 24 others injured when a red Mercedes Benz sedan went out of control and ploughed into them near an airport in the southern city of Shenzhen on Sunday.
The car collided with the pedestrians on an overpass near Terminal Three of Bao'an International Airport at 4:17pm, the city's traffic police said on Sina Weibo, a Twitter-like social networking site.
The driver has been taken in for questioning by the police.
