The Donghua Buddhist Temple, located in Shaoguan, South China's Guangdong province, held a writing test and interview on April 18, for the applicants attracted by its recruitment notice posted earlier via WeChat.

The notice, saying "Buddha Needs You", has attracted more than 1.1 million hits and more than 4,000 applicants since it was posted on March 30.

Nearly 60 applicants came to the temple for test and interview. Some of them are young people or new graduates who were born in the 1990s, while some of them were even kindergarten teachers.

Many applicants even came from outside the province, like Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Henan and Inner Mongolia.

According to a Buddhist in the temple, a French designer is still on the way for interview, the temple would give him another opportunity later.

Besides, a series of bizarre questions asked in the test and interview have been unveiled online. For example, the question for the position of copy writer is to write a plan titled "how to make young people embraced by Buddha"; the interviewers ask applicants who want to become a postproduction worker to design a 3-minute-long promotion video titled "People love Buddha"; for an UI designer, applicants need to draw a cartoon picture of masters in the temple.

It's still unknown when the results of the interview will be released.
