1. Toughest smoking ban in Beijing
Beijing has shown its determination to discourage smoking by implementing new regulations.
The capital will ban smoking in restaurants, offices and on public transport, part of unprecedented new curbs welcomed by anti-tobacco advocates. It requires that no smoking should be seen in all public places, indoor workplaces and public transportation.
Smoking indoors and outdoors at kindergartens, schools and children’s hospitals where the majority are under-age is banned together with sports stadiums. People are barred from smoking in a queue with a 50 yuan ($8.33) to 200 yuan fine the punishments.
Hotline 12320 and WeChat official account "No smoking Beijing" are ways to complain about transgressions.
