Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei released unified standards for traffic and nursing services for the elderly, the first of its kind as part of the region's integration in social and economic development.

The three governments will jointly draft and release unified standards on products, technologies and services in the trilateral region, said Yao Ping, deputy director of quality and technology supervision bureau in Beijing on Monday.

The first set of unified standards, which cover the technical specification on electronic toll collection facilities and elderly nursing, will take effect on July 1.

Such unified standards in the region can smooth business and exchanges in the zone and are good for coordinated regional growth, Yao said.

The governments will conduct further cooperation in drafting standards in the region, with the focus on environmental protection, industrial cooperation and traffic systems.
