After the Chinese test was over on June 7, more than 4,000 comments flooded netizen Aixin Guniang's Weibo account, with some blaming the woman for ruining their test.
One netizen's comment said: "Dear Ms. Chen, I have practiced argumentative writing for three years, only to find I have to write a letter in Gaokao! Now that I spent more than one hour writing a letter to your father, I hope I can get a reply from him."
In response to the criticism, Aixin Guniang posted on her Weibo account saying: "I am not Chen." "Please leave me alone."
Despite her explanation, more criticism poured into her Weibo account and as a result, she was forced to shut down the commenting function of her Weibo on June 8.
Hubei traffic police also explained on its Weibo account on June 8 that an alias was used in the news report about the "daughter blowing the whistle on dad story" and asked netizens not to target the wrong person.
