China's Ministry of Environmental Protection has issued a report on Tuesday regarding the air quality of China's 74 cities during the past month, with 7 cities on the Pearl River Delta among the Top 10, reports the News Express Daily.

The Top 10 cities with the best air quality in May are Haikou, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Shenzhen, Zhoushan, Dongguan, Foshan and Lhasa.

7 cities out of the Top 10 are located on the Pearl River Delta. The air quality of the region has improved compared with April and the same period of the previous year. An environmental expert explains that is because the air quality has improved during spring and summer and there has been a large amount of rainfall in May which has helped to disperse pollution.

The 10 cities at the bottom of the list are Tangshan, Zhengzhou, Jinan, Xingtai, Baoding, Xuzhou, Wuhan, Hengshui, Taiyuan and Handan.
