China supports Cameroon's goal to realize independent and sustainable development, President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Cameroonian Prime Minister Philemon Yang on Friday in Beijing.
Xi called for greater cooperation between the two nations in various areas including industry, agriculture, energy, regional aviation, infrastructure and human resources.
The president also underlined the community of common destiny between China and African countries, saying China supports them to upgrade their own capability for development.
Philemon thanked China for its support in the economic and social development of Cameroon, which hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in industry, raw material manufacturing, infrastructure, education, and other sectors.
The Cameroonian government would step up measures to facilitate foreign enterprise investment, he added.
Philemon is paying an official visit to China from Wednesday to Sunday, at the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang.
Li and Philemon held talks on Thursday in Beijing, before they witnessed the signing of a number of cooperative documents on the economy, technology, infrastructure, and cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises.
Two-way trade volume between China and Cameroon reached $2.57 billion in 2014, up 36 percent than the previous year.
