NANNING - Chinese police have busted a drug trafficking network in Liuzhou city in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, arresting 13 suspects.
The gang sold drugs on the Internet, Liuzhou police said.
The police noticed a drug dealer with the screen name "Huang Liang" who has been promoting drugs on instant messenger WeChat and distributing the drugs via express delivery services.
On May 21, police tracked him down in the city's Sanjiang county and arrested him in possession of 1.17 kilograms of methamphetamine.
"Huang Liang" confessed that he contacted other drug dealers on the internet and sold drugs to buyers across the country from Aug 2014.
The police then used information he provided to arrest other members of the gang.
The operation took a number of months, police said.
