SANYA - Ten passengers have been slightly injured exiting a plane which made an emergency landing at an airport in south China's Hainan province on Friday afternoon.
China Southern Airlines flight CZ3081, flying from Guangzhou City in Guangdong province to Bangkok, landed at Sanya Phoenix International Airport in Sanya City around 2:10 pm after instruments on the plane indicated an engine fire, airport authorities said.
Two passengers twisted their ankles and eight got skin abrasions as they disembarked down an evacuation slide.
The plane took off from Guangzhou around 1 pm carrying 132 passengers and seven crew members.
A plane dispatched from Guangzhou by China Southern Airlines to pick up the evacuated passengers and get them to Bangkok arrived at the Sanya airport around 5:45 pm.
