NE China police kill 3 terrorists

SHENYANG - Police in northeast China's Shenyang city shot dead three knife-wielding terrorists and wounded another on Monday, local police said.

"When police pursued terrorist suspects, four terrorists armed with knives resisted arrest. Police fired shots only after the terrorists ignored warnings," said a statement issued by Shenyang public security bureau.

No civilians were injured or killed in the process of law enforcement, said the statement.

Further investigation is underway.
