Greater teamwork between media organizations is needed to promote the "One Belt and One Road" strategy, media leaders said on Monday.

Inspired by the vision of "One Belt and One Road", an initiative aiming to promote economic and cultural ties in neighboring countries, People’s Daily hosted a forum, with the theme "Common Destiny and New Patterns of Cooperation."

"As the initiative brings a new wave of regional cooperation, we hope that media organizations along the belt and road could offer more accurate and truthful reports, facilitating the cooperation by building more platforms for information and personnel exchanges and sharing technical innovation," said Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

A large scale, international event, the forum gathered more than 200 guests, from home and broad, including government officials, experts and representatives of international organizations and mainstream media.
