China's quality watchdog will further increase international cooperation and trade facilitation to better serve the national Silk Road Economic Belt initiative, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
Li Jing, spokeswoman for the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said in a news conference that the authority will help the country further expand the imports of resources in bulk, and enhance the cooperation with countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative in the development and implementing of technical standards.
It will also make efforts to ensure the smooth operation of the rail transit lines between China and Europe, and support the establishment of an economic corridor along the initiative, she said.
The Silk Road Economic Belt initiative and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative was put forward by the Chinese government to promote trade links and investment in Asia and Europe.
The authority will also organize a guided tour for reporters along the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative areas between October and December to increase the exposure of the economic initiative and improve the quarantine and quality inspection service in the country’s export and import procedures.
