China looks to innovate the disabled aid industry

About 500 political delegates and professionals from Asia and Europe will gather in Beijing, Thursday, for the international disability cooperation.

They will join Disability Cooperation Event under the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) jointly held by China Disabled Persons' Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Beijing municipal government.

The cooperation's theme is "break barriers for inclusive development". Main activities include high level forums on disability cooperation, a global disability products exhibition, and a professional meeting on disabled aid technique cooperation.

Li Xiaomei, vice-director of international affairs department of the China Disabled Persons' Federation says, "it's a global issue to increase disabled persons' welfare," said Jia Yong, vice-president of the federation, adding that the cooperation echos Premier Li Keqiang's proposal to incorporate disability cooperation into Asia and Europe cooperation framework.

The event's goal is to increase global communications in disability industries, To explore cooperation on disabled aid, the event also holds an international expo and professional technique forum.

China has a potential market on disabled aid with 85 million disabled persons and 200 million senior residents.
