BEIJING - China removed 1.17 million high-emission vehicles from roads nationwide in the first 11 months of this year, the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced on Wednesday.
The figures showed that almost all high-emission commercial vehicles registered before the end of 2005 had been pulled from the roads, a target set in March, according to the ministry.
To accelerate the removal of targeted vehicles, the ministry has filed monthly reports briefing the public on the latest developments in each provincial region since July.
