China to rev up reform in power sector
A new guideline for deepening reform in China's power sector will be implemented soon, a senior official with the National Energy Administration(NEA) said, noting that electricity will regain its nature as a commodity under the new rule.
A pricing system dominated by the market will be established and price will serve as a guide in effective exploitation and rational utilization of energy, said Wang Yumin, deputy director of NEA and a member to the CPPCC.
The document will also cover topics including breaking monopoly and the transformation of government functions, Wang said.
