Ana said Chinese students have a heavy work load and in Germany, classes are over at 1 pm. Ana said that Liu, a second-year high school student, has to study on Saturdays, but in German students have parties on the weekends.

"In Germany, after graduating high school, not everyone will choose to study in college, some go to vocational schools. So they have little pressure to study," Ana said.

"They wear the same uniforms at school, but in German, we wear different clothes."
