All Chinese executive MBA (EMBA) applicants will be required to take the national post-graduate entrance exam starting from 2017, the China National MBA Education Supervisory Committee announced on its website.

EMBA enrollments will be subject to relevant admission criteria set by the Ministry of Education and will conform with national policies in this regard, it was added.

Beginning from December 1, universities will no longer be allowed to organize their own EMBA entrance exams, the committee said.

In addition, tuitions for all MBA programs will be collected in strict accordance with regulations.

The Ministry of Education has issued a guideline on further regulating China's MBA education, which covers enrollment, tuition and education management.

The new rule requires enhanced supervision of class attendance, performance reviews, theses and degree awarding. Corrupt behavior, such as lowering standards for granting academic degrees or buying degrees, or sightseeing in the name of study tours or visiting scholar programs, will be forbidden.
