A documentary series about how the Confucius Institute accelerated exchanges between China and other countries over the past decade will have its premiere on Thursday on China Central Television.

The documentaries, produced under the supervision of Hanban, the Confucius Institute Headquarters, also will illustrate the history and development of global language and culture institutes, including the British Council of the United Kingdom, Alliance Francaise of France, the Goethe Institut of Germany and Instituto Cervantes of Spain.

The documentaries took two years to shoot as the camera crew went to more than 50 countries and interviewed 200 university presidents, scholars, teachers and volunteers working at Confucius Institutes in different countries.

The series consists of six 50-minute episodes. They will be broadcast on CCTV’s documentary channel at 8 pm nightly through April 19.
