BEIJING - Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai promised measures to attract more outstanding personnel from abroad when he met with overseas experts attending the 11th Sino-American Technology and Engineering Conference (SATEC) on Saturday.
"China will pursue a more open policy, improve its institutional arrangement on bringing in foreign talent, enhance the legal framework, and protect intellectual property rights to attract more outstanding personnel from other countries," Ma said.
The SATEC was first run in 1993, as China's first platform for technical personnel exchanges with the outside world since reform and opening up.
Ma commended the conference on promoting technological innovation and facilitating upgrading of the industrial structure.
