To adapt to the internet era, the company bought computers and set up its own website. It also established interactive platforms such as communication, theory study, education and management and discipline supervision platforms on WeChat, micro blog, and QQ to assist party building in the new era.

The animation figure "little tiger" is a virtual cartoon image on the platform who chats with soldiers to solve their problems. The "little tiger" also organizes some 3-5 minute classes for soldiers and enables them to acquire theoretical knowledge at spare time.

Officers and men also send their routes and location status as well as small videos to the party branch and keep connected with the big family when they are away from the military camp.

Moving forward

Soldiers of the Red Third Company achieved several milestones during the past 10 years, with 11 soldiers enrolling into universities, 45 receiving professional skills certificates, 98 getting admitted to colleges, and 69 veterans holding positions such as factory and company managers, and village party branch secretaries. "The Third Company is a big family with every family member dream coming true," said the soldiers.
