ZHENGZHOU -- Two traffic accidents in Central China's Henan province killed four people and injured 11 more, local authorities said Friday.
One of the accidents in Fanxian County Thursday night resulted in the deaths of two bystanders and injured another seven, three in a critical condition, the local government said. The accident happened at around 8:45 p.m. at a crossroad. Police said the driver of the vehicle, which was a minibus, tested positive for excessive levels of alcohol in his blood.
In a separate case, two people were killed in Huangchuan County at around 2:10 am Friday morning, in a head-on collision between two minibuses on a main road. Four people were injured, including two seriously, police said. Sources alleged that the accident also involved driving under the influence of alcohol.
The suspects of both cases have been detained. The investigations are underway.
