A courier in Beijing was praised as the most thoughtful courier by Chinese netizens after he kept sending dozens of drinks to migrant workers each day in summer.

The courier, surnamed Geng, felt sad after seeing many migrant workers drink running water to cool themselves off.

"I have some relatives who work on the construction sites. It's very hard for the migrant workers to work in hot summer days. And they may suffer from diarrhea after drinking running water," Geng said.

As usual, the courier used the navigation of Baidu Map, a desktop and mobile map service provided by China's online search giant Baidu, to set his route of delivering parcels one day. He noticed the app had launched a system of exchanging bottled drinks for daily mileage.

The next day, Geng tried to take part in the activity and exchanged dozens of drinks for the miles he travelled that day. Then he took the drinks to the migrant workers.

Geng then persuaded his colleagues to take part in the activity with him.

Told that the drinks he sent to the migrant workers were worthe more than 2,000 yuan ($290), Geng said that he didn't notice that. He just did his job, and exchanging bottled drinks for miles doesn't cost him any extra money or time.

As for the internet users' praise, Geng said they had given him too much credit.
