BEIJING - China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Thursday said 1,623 people were investigated for duty-related crimes from January to October 2016, a 94.6-percent rise year-on-year.

The SPP said the people involved in the crimes are mostly officials at the grassroots level.

The SPP publicized eight typical criminal cases in poverty relief work, and urged procuratorates at all levels to investigate all duty-related crimes in the sector, in a bid to ensure the poverty relief policies and resources really benefit people in need.
