Three Taiwan politicians announce bid for KMT chair
TAIPEI -- Taiwan's former deputy leader Wu Den-yih announced Monday that he will run for the chairmanship of the Kuomintang (KMT) party, the third candidate to do so.
The incumbent KMT chairwoman Hung Hsiu-chu and vice chairman Hau Lung-bin earlier announced their intention to stand in the election, slated for May 20.
Wu, former KMT vice chairman, was the island's deputy leader from May 2012 to May 2016.
