Suggestions pour in for government work report
More than 100,000 suggestions have been submitted in response to an online call to "Share your thoughts with Premier Li".
The aim of the initiative, launched on Dec 20, was to gauge which issues were of most concern to internet users from home and abroad in the lead up to the upcoming two sessions.
Online readers were invited to offer suggestions on 15 topics ranging from employment, housing, environment to government reform and urbanization.
As of Jan 13, a total of 106,881 suggestions had been submitted. Among those environment, education, diplomacy, trade, and medical reform were the top five topics foreign internet users were most interested in.
Some of the best suggestions have been submitted to Premier Li Keqiang and the drafting group for the government work report.
In last year's government work report, 93 work deployments were outlined in accordance with suggestions from internet users.
This year's event has involved more media outlets, with gov.cn, the official website for the Chinese government and 26 media outlets co-launching the activity.
As of Jan 13, the top ten media outlets that prompted the most effective suggestions were cctv.com, toutiao.com, people.com.cn, xinhuanet.com, Tencent, ifeng.com, chinadaily.com.cn, China.org.cn, ce.cn, and yicai.com.
This is the third consecutive year Gov.cn has launched the activity, which provides the public with an online channel to voice their opinions and suggestions to the State Council. The public have until the end of this year's two sessions to participate.
