Four new partners join Alibaba's management team
Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd announced the introduction of four new members to its core management team on Friday, expanding the bloc for the second time since its listing in 2014.
The addition would bring the total size of the group to 36, 80 percent of whom were born in the 1970s and 1980s and one-third being women.
Joining the group called Alibaba Partnership are Hu Xi and Zeng Songbai who play important roles at Alibaba's affiliate Ant Financial, Wu Zeming who oversees Tmall's product technology, and Wen Jia, whose area of work is not disclosed by the company.
Two of the new entrants were born in the 1980s, as the world's top e-commerce firm aims to bring the younger generation with rich, diversified skills to its top decision-making body in a bid to better form strategies and manage business.
The partnership structure, which includes Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma, Chief Executive Officer Daniel Zhang and other key executives and company founders, was created in 2010 to preserve the company's entrepreneurial culture and maintain its mission, vision and values long after founders have moved on, the company said.
