An Italian cultural festival held recently in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, aimed to increase local people's understanding of Italian products, culture and style.

Forty exhibitors showcased Italian food, handmade ice-cream, motorcycles, singing, fashion and cooking during the first Italian Cultural Festival, held at the Feng Lake Imperial Territory, a luxury villa project in Huangpu district.

"I was so glad to see plenty of Italian brands and items — from food, fashion, wine and arts to motorcycles — at the event, showcasing the spirit of what 'made in Italy' is," said Laura Egoli, Italian consul general in Guangzhou.

Egoli said the festival was to increase local people's understanding of Italian products, and boost cooperation in trade and cultural exchange.

Paolo Quattrocchi, chief representative of the Italian Trade Commission, said he hoped that through the products, ideas, designs and technologies showcased at the event that people in Guangzhou could gain a better understanding of Italian style and creative capital.
