Baotou adds new academician workstation
Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region witnessed the establishment of China Rare Earth Sulfide and Rare Earth Light Source Academician Workstation on Nov 13, targeting the upgrading of the rare earth industry, according to chinanews.com.
Launch ceremony attendees included Zhang Hongjie, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhao Jiangtao, acting mayor of Baotou.
Baotou, China's leading rare earth supplier, has long been committed to developing its rare earth industry with the Baotou Rare Earth Hi-Tech Zone serving as its base. The city has successfully hosted eight sessions of the rare earth industry forum, boosting its prestige in the industry.
Five industry chains in the areas of rare earth permanent magnet and magnetic materials, rare earth polishing powder materials, rare earth hydrogen storage, rare earth alloy and rare earth catalysis have been developed in the city.
