A trade fair featuring specialties from northwestern Shaanxi province will be held in Shenzhen from Saturday to Monday.

About 160 enterprises from the province will showcase their products, with the aim of promoting local specialties in Shenzhen and seeking business opportunities there.

More than 400 types of commodities will be on display, including daily necessities, fruits, wine, dairy products and tea. The exhibitors will also bring cultural and tourism products with local characteristics to the expo, such as papercuttings and farmer paintings.

Nearly 100 large department stores, chain supermarkets and wholesalers in Shenzhen were invited to the fair. They will hold talks with exhibitors to explore cooperation opportunities.

The event is part of the seventh Shaanxi-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Economic Cooperation Week.

To increase popularity and market share of local products of Shaanxi and promote local brands, the local government has organized a number of trade fairs domestically and internationally this year.

That has played a significant role not only in helping local enterprises expand markets and attract investment, but also in boosting demand and consumption.
