Now and then: Famous venues of the Long March

Luding Bridge has 13 iron chains connecting both banks of the Dadu River. The Red Army soldiers climbed on the iron chains to take over the bridge after the enemy took away the plates during the Long March in May 1935. The battle broke the enemy's plan of annihilating the Red Army south to the Dadu River. [Photo/Xinhua]
