Tibetan photographers participating in an exhibition of their work in Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet autonomous region, on Sunday said the show is a gift to the mark the 50th anniversary of the region's founding.

In September China will observe that milestone, similar photographic exhibitions are held in Tibet regularly, but this one is considered the first of its kind, as it features only Tibetan photographers.

"We have been taking photos more than 20 years, the exhibition is a demonstration of the achievements we have gained over the two decades," said Kalzang Gyatso, one of the five photographers at the show.

The 52-year-old said it is also a way to show their love and respect to nature's might and their homeland, Tibet.

Conducted by the Tibet Photographer Association and the Tibet Yagelijing Company, the exhibit will last for 10 days.

This exhibit is a way to display Tibetan culture to the outside world, and to set a stage for young Tibetan photographers to learn from each other, according to the Tibet Photographer Association.

No matter where you go in Tibet, one often sees beautiful scenes of harmony between humans and nature. These pictures are full of love, and such love is the unchangeable theme of this land.

The Tibet Photographer Association has more than 400 photographers.
