Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, will host the 4th Western China International Exposition from September 25 to 28, announced Sichuan deputy governor Huang Xiaoxiang on June 23.
The expo will feature several specialized industries such as information technology, infrastructure, food processing, traditional medicine and tourism.
Exhibitors from more than 20 countries, including the United States, Britain, France and Russia, as well as from 17 Chinese provinces will participate in the expo, which Huang says is expected to attract an estimated 1,000 participants.
The expo, an annual event usually held in May, was postponed due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic.
