Northwest China's Gansu Province absorbed contractual foreign investment totalling US$92 million in the first half of this year, up 51 percent year-on-year.

Statistics show that, despite the impact of SARS, the amount of actual foreign investment exceeded US$27.94 million in the first six months, a rise of 19 percent over the corresponding period last year.
