The world famous Irishstep danceshow Riverdance offers fun to people spending Christmas in Guangzhou. The theatrical show, notable for its rapid leg movements while body and arms are kept largely stationary, has received standing ovations since it was first performed in a break during the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994.

Riverdance is currently on its farewell tour. It returned to the United Kingdom in 2010, 15 years after it opened at The Point Theater, in Dublin.

Taiwan pop singerChang Hui-mei, more widely known as A-Mei, will return to the mainland stage after an absence of five years. Her world concert tour is titled Amit, after an aboriginal name.

From the Puyuma minority group in Taiwan, the singer achieved instant commercial success with her unique voice and singing style after her debut in 1996. She has won numerous music awards and is extremely popular in the Mandarin-speaking world.
