Shopping breaks-Italian ToscanaUpdated: 2006-04-03 17:04 Despite the entrance's harsh fluorescent-lit glow, Toscana's leafy faux vines and stone fountains may fool you into thinking you've stumbled upon a side-street Italian trattoria. For appetizers, the perfectly seasoned Insalata Capreze (RMB 8) left our mouths watering for our main course, the Gnocchi Carbonara (RMB 58). The pastas are also the perfect portion size. The ending however, was not so happy. The Tiramisu (RMB 3), though creamy and tart, was store-bought, which rather disappointed given the excellent presentation of the preceding dishes. On the whole, however, the charming, attentive staff and bargain lunch specials, which include dishes like Lasagna for ?8, inclusive of coffee, bread and salad, make a trip to Toscana definitely worth taking.
