Gunmen: Hits the Mark

Updated: 2006-04-10 19:08

Just past New Get Lucky Bar on the way down Super Bar Street, Gunmen's flashy exterior fits right in with its neighbors', sporting a giant neon figure firing a high-powered weapon across the night sky.

From the outside Gunmen could easily be confused with a garish Beijing gun club. On the inside, however, you'll find plush lounge seating, standard cocktails going for RMB 30 each, and Whitney Houston and Bryan Adams piercing your ears. What can't be overlooked in this drab scene, however, is the bizarre inclusion of a 2-metre high projection screen mounted above the front of the bar; in place for big screen shoot 'em up gaming! It all begins to make sense after seeing the lengthy bar and old-west style outfits of the service staff. Mosey on in and play first person shooter games all night with real sounding AK-47s on a larger than life screen. Don't worry about fighting over who gets to play next, you shouldn't expect a crowd.
