Gas jeans are big on the little things that count, the details, such as buttons, logos, and stitching. Even the'destroyed' areas of the fabric (those discreet tears and holes so important to the used look) are rendered with loving care, or so we're assured.

Of course, keeping it simple is hard work. The company sources fabric in Japan, has it hand-washed in Italy, then has it patterned and cut in Romania. "[Our fabric] will keep its shape ten years from now," boasts Petragallo, pointing at his own pair of shapely jeans.

Prices range from RMB 225 to 6,295; best sellers include 'Roxy' (slim leg-line) at RMB 895-1,595, and 'Norton' (RMB 895 to 1,595) for men.
