Fried greasyback shrimp (36 yuan, US$4) was a dish worthy of recommendation. Due to Guangdong's easy access to the sea, Cantonese cuisine is well known for its plentiful seafood and various kinds of preparation methods. Cang Le Tang Fang has adopted quite a new way of serving the greasyback shrimp, that is, fried with tea. The dish was not especially splendid visually, but the taste was quite special, mild and a little salty.

Nearly 10 different types of fried rice are served in the restaurant -- another signature feature, alongside the soup. The fried rice served with swamp eel slices, caraway, spices and soy sauce (66 yuan, US$8) was impressive for its salty and somewhat spicy taste as well as the brilliant idea of mixing rice with the eel slices. My dinner companions and I thought that the rice was just as appetizing as some of the hot dishes served in the restaurant.

The fruit drinks were delectable, thick, fresh and tasted very natural.

The average cost of a meal at the Cang Le Tang Fang is about 50-60 yuan (US$6-7) per person. First-time diners there should pay more attention to the dishes on its menu with small bomb signs next to their names (indicating they are recommended dishes).
