Shanghai's Nike factory shop

Factory outlets offer clothes that are either perfectly great, or greatly imperfect but in both cases ridiculously inexpensive. They are the places to go to see new fashion items, sample one-off garments and the latest colors.

Different from shopping malls and department stores that cater to the wandering shopper, some things may be missing from a factory outlet shopping experience. Before visiting the shops, you'd better make some preparations.

* Food and drink

Some factory outlets are in rural areas, where there are few restaurants or cafes. Taking your own food and drink with you is a good idea and also gives you more time to shop!.

* Cash

Some factory outlets don't accept credit cards. You'd better take cash with you.

* Dress simply

There are less dressing rooms in factory outlets than in proper malls, and some have no dressing rooms at all. Dressing simply will help you try on any clothes you like easily.

* Luka Warehouse

Sells local Shanghai brands Luka and Reserved, which fit the office girl style.

Location: No. 126 South Hongmei Road, Minhang District. (Get off at the Jinjiang Park Station of Metro 1)

*Etam

Etam is popular with young girls in Shanghai. The discounts usually run at about 70 percent.

Naturally JOJO

A Taiwan brand that is well-known for its black and white design.

Location: No.59 Xuanhua Road, close to Jiangsu Road. The general discount is 50 to 70 per cent.

A famous shoe brand.

Location: 1/F Pacific Department, close to the Shanghai Railway Station.

Nike

The only Nike factory outlet in Shanghai.
