Shopping at late night

Stores in Shanghai's Xintiandi Area will prolong their opening hours to 12 am starting June 20, reports Metroer.com, a website for office workers.

Department stores in Shanghai generally open at 10 am and close at 10 pm. This event will last for one month. A poll made on the website shows many office workers like to go shopping after 10 pm.

Xintiandi, once a neighborhood of old Shikumen (a type of tenement found only in Shanghai), has now been transformed into an area full of boutiques, clubs and restaurants.
