Chinese movie and music celebrities are using their star power to attract diners to their restaurant businesses. Many of us "ordinary" people rarely have a chance to bump into these big names but who knows there is always a chance Nicky Wu or Zheng Jun might wander up to your table and say hello. Here has sampled a few of the best celebrity restaurants in Beijing.

Famous film: Big Shot's Funeral
Specialises in Cantonese-style seafood, Sichuan spicy foods, other popular Chinese home-style foods, and hotpot. A plate of fried razor clam costs only 12 yuan (US$1.50). Fried spicy catfish is super tender and tasty. The menu has a lot of spicy Sichuan dishes, such as north Sichuan cold starch noodles, and fried chicken cubes with crisp peanuts (gong bao ji ding).

The first floor of the restaurant has a spacious main hall and high ceilings. The second floor has a specialized hotpot section, and the third floor has 12 private rooms.

Average spending is 50 yuan (US$6.25). The first floor can be a bit crowded at peak dinner times. The menu is only in Chinese but there are colourful illustrations to describe almost every dish.

Location: 20 metres into the first crossroad, on the south of the road, 100 metres to the east of Jimenqiao on North Third Ring Road.
