Three dimensional food(That's Shanghai)
Updated: 2006-08-10 10:35 When dealing with food, there are three senses that should be taken into consideration: sight, smell and taste. All three are activated inside T Sens, a long, tunnel-shaped restaurant with glass walls, and a formal dining experience suitable for romantic dates. The menu is simple, offering mostly seafood dishes. The grilled sea bass fillet with tapenade and baby leek julienne with lemon shallots in butter sauce (RMB 138) provided a taste experience just short of excellent; unfortunately, the fish was slightly overcooked. However, the grilled monkfish fillet, complemented by pan-fried bacon, seasonal vegetables and basil in tomato reduction (RMB 148), was exquisite, with a perfectly balanced composition of flavors. Indeed, T Sens' quest for perfection was met on most every level, except for the annoying staff, who pestered us repeatedly to order more than we wanted, a habit that is sure to put a damper on any date.
