Unashamedly kitsch, camp and corny, Annexe u is proprietor Alan Tan's tribute to the psychedelic 1970s. While Tan's choice of Austin Powers-esque, shagadelic decor (his words, not ours) might not be to everyone's taste, the drinks list, which he designed himself, should be.

The menu includes colorfully named martinis such as Tequini, The Spy Who Shagged Me and Tan's personal favorite, Fook Me/Fook You-a double-barreled beverage perfect for frisky couples. Anyone perturbed by said novelty tipples still has the option of a number of traditional, well-made martinis (all RMB 32), or a refreshing mojito (RMB 28), testament to Tan's tenure as Bed's barman.

The final ingredient to the annexe u experience is music. Mixed funk played at a reasonable volume creates a laidback lounge ambience and a perfect environment for enjoying a decent drink, regardless of some of the bar's more tacky attributes.
