Superb five-star fusion feastsWith celebrity chef Susur Lee's original recipes dominating the menu and the management of Andrew Tjioe and his Tung Lok Group at the helm, The Chinoise Story should turn out to be a long, triumphant one.

Occupying two levels of Jinjiang Hotel, the restaurant boasts four distinctively styled rooms, one blending minimalism with traditional northeastern Chinese patterns. Like Susur Lee himself, dishes possess Chinese origins but embrace a variety of styles. Sesame, ginger and plum flirt in fluffy salads. The Seared Foie Gras with Sweet & Sour Eggplant and Figs with Broad Bean Sauce plays with French flavor from a Chinese base. The results are mind-bogglingly delicious.

Desserts such as the Lemon Tart with Peach Green Tea Chrysanthemum sauce make us love our China story all the more.
