Japanese Film Week opens in Beijng(CRI)Updated: 2006-11-16 11:24 Beijing's film lovers will be able to indulge in a banquet of Japanese films when the 2006 Japanese Film Festival begins next week (from November 18 to 24).
Organized by the China Film Archive and Beijing Film Academy, the festival will run in Beijing from November 18 to 24. Most of the 11 films the Chinese Film Archive will screen during the festival are recent works, like "Letters", "Tomorrow's Memories" and "The Spring Snow". Old favorites like acclaimed Japanese director Akira Kurosawa's samurai film "Tsubaki Sanjuro" will also screen, as well as "Tasogare Seibei" and "The Hidden Blade" from Yamada Yoji's Samurai Trilogy. Japanese famous movie star Kimura Takuya's new film Love and Honor directed by Yoji Yamada is to premiere in the opening ceremony in Century Theatre. Date: November 18
