Each year M.A.C Cosmetics comes out with its holiday collection providing a great way to try out new colors and combinations in a very pretty palette.

M.A.C is offering plenty of ways to decorate the face this season. The US brand has recently introduced the "Formal Black" and "Dress Sets" collections just in time for the party season.

Lace, velvet, fishnet, glitter - it's all part of the inspiration behind the sophisticated Formal Black limited-edition gift collection, along with the formality of evening.

Inspiration comes from the amazing variation in luxurious black eveningwear fabrics which M.A.C has used to wrap the compacts, thus creating little jewel boxes. Each case is adorned with a different type of fabric, including fishnet, suedette, lace and more.

Compacts are covered in satin pleats of lace trim, cummerbund and glitter, accompanied by dangling jet beads and other accoutrements. Lip gloss trios are sheathed in satin while the cases holding the brushes are as elegant as any evening clutch.

The stylish compacts represent both a modern and retro feeling. These will be highly coveted by anyone who buys them either for themselves or to give as gifts. The collection includes color for eyes, lips and cheeks, as well as makeup brushes.

Dress Sets is a collection of six dress sets, each featuring a favorite M.A.C product in a cocktail-sized array of shades. The collection includes Lipglasses, Lipgelees, Pigments and Shakesticks. Each selection comes in a slick black box with patterned lace-etched lid.

They range in price from 300 yuan (US$38.31) for Lipglass Dress Set to 2,480 yuan for the Pret-A-Porter Brush Collection, a luxurious set of eight.
