Delivery escapades(cityweekend)
Updated: 2007-02-01 10:36 Having mastered the art of eating at our desks, we welcome any new addition to the delivery scene with mouths wide open. We have dealt with all manner of delivery faux pax, from forgotten orders to cold "hot" roast beef sandwiches, so we were thrilled when City Deli's turkey and avocado baguette (RMB60) and Reuben on walnut (RMB50) arrived within the specified delivery time. We were not happy, however, when the delivery guy handed us a sloppily knotted Jiu Guang supermarket bag leaking pickle juice — if we're going to pay for overpriced sandwiches, we expect impeccable service. Fortunately, the generous servings of quality meat and cheese averted some of our initial horror, though the avocado turned out to be a guacamole spread. This delivery-only deli has potential, but if it desires to succeed, it needs a lesson in Delivery 101: Rethink your pricing strategies and invest in your own bags please. City Deli |
