Dream sequence

Entering Babi is like succumbing to an unwanted dream sequence.

Imagine the be-bopping alien cantina that Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi would jaunt into; chock-full of disorienting music and creepy characters, with a faint smell of xenophobia lingering in the large but curiously claustrophobic interior. The orange-lit bar, complemented with pink, purple and green laser lights, is all rather punishing on the eye, though the drinks behind it are reasonably priced-cocktails from RMB 20-40-but the shoddy beer selection (RMB 30) leaves much to be desired.

For the eager bodies looking for something new in the Beijing scene, Babi is, unfortunately, not it.
