Not exactly gagaBy Peggy Rosen (City Weekend)
Updated: 2007-03-28 13:50 This Asian-style restaurant featuring Thai food along with a smattering of Vietnamese has an elegant facade. The pleasant atmosphere, good service and reasonable prices, however, outshine many of the dishes. Spring Rolls (RMB 6 each) and Shrimp Cakes (RMB 8 each) were tasteless and greasy. The menu had a few amusing misspellings; Crispy Duck (RMB 25) appears as Dork. The crispy was a bit soggy and fatty, not dork (duck!). The Chicken in Green Curry Sauce (RMB 42) arrived with a generous serving of Thai rice. Also redeeming was the Fragrant Noodles with Prawns (RMB 38), or, Pad Thai in disguise. The assorted stir fried vegetables in a tasty but unidentifiable sauce (RMB 25) were also acceptable. Since there are shrimp dishes galore and Vietnamese offerings that went untried, we agreed that we just might give Graraagaa one more visit. Perfect for: Thai on a budget. Graraagaa |
